“Scarborough is the reason I became a filmmaker. Growing up surrounded by nature, exploring freely as a child, and fueling my imagination, while also being immersed in so many cultures, foods, and languages, made me endlessly curious about the world and the stories within it. Having filmed much of my work in Scarborough, it continues to be a constant source of inspiration. As I said in my speech after winning my fourth Canadian Screen Award, Scarborough Forever!”

Beautiful people who hailed from different cultures across the globe. Finding similarities between cooking methods, kitchen utensils and even spices. You realize that we are more similar than we are different. Bryan Brock is a Toronto-based photographer, creative director, mentor, and community builder whose work explores identity, culture, and the power of community. Rooted in street photography, his practice documents the often untold stories of everyday life through a visual style that is both candid and cinematic. His work has been featured in print and online publications, presented in galleries across North America, and extends to major brand collaborations and community-driven projects that merge art with social impact.

Jober Guevarra is a Scarborough-based photographer, creative director, and visual artist known for his toy and video game photography, as well as travelling the world documenting your favourite entertainers. As a Scarborough native, Jober draws inspiration from the city’s diversity, bringing a bold, cinematic style to every project. Whether capturing global icons or crafting imaginative worlds through virtual photography, his work bridges culture, creativity, and community with a distinct voice that is unmistakably his own.
