The Deputy Mayor’s Online Talent Search is aimed at energizing creative people in the community by providing a meaningful, COVID-19-safe venue for their performing arts energies.

The Talent Search will help counteract the effects of Toronto’s recent social isolation by inviting talented amateurs to join in an open, online competition that challenges their creativity and showcases their talents.

A panel of expert judges will view the performances and choose the top ten submissions to advance to the semifinals. The ten submissions will be posted on social media for the public to view and vote on. The top five vote-getters will be asked to submit a second performance for public vote, with the three top-rated performances earning cash prizes.

The competition is open to all Toronto residents 14 years-of-age or older who are not professional performers. Submissions will be accepted beginning on July 26, 2020 with the final five winners announced on August 29, 2020.
